The Moon and I in New York City
August 2nd, 2003I’m preparing for my upcoming *quickie* trip to New York City. My photo of “The Moon and I” will be hanging on exhibit at the Art@Large gallery so I will be attending the art opening on August 7.
This will be my first art show, and also the first time I’ve printed any of my photographs. I’ve only published my digital photos online before. With the help of my friend Ann from New York City, I’ve got a professionally printed piece framed beautifully in black. It’s for sale, too, so if you’d like to have the one and only printed photograph of me on my period, come and see it at Art@Large.
It’s a bit strange going from a semi-anonymous person showing my menstrual photos online, to standing next to my photo at a gallery. I don’t make a lot of personal appearances. In fact, this is the only one so far this year.

Have You ever talked to Barbara Nitke? She has some absolutely wonderful photos she composes, takes and sells. She is in the NY area and LOVES photographing diverse parts of the community! i have met her, and she knows a couple of my friends.

Thank you for the encouraging note. Barbara Nitke has also shown her photographs at Art @ Large. Her photos are beautiful. She’s known to take photographs of porn stars in between video takes, while they’re resting, maybe even smoking a cigarette.

Hmmm… too bad. I will be in New York the coming month, but I can’t be there the 7th. I am really sorry for that, I would have loved to meet you. The picture looks great, and no doubt it will catch people’s attention.

Barbara’s work is awesome! She gave us a slide show here in Madison, Wis. in feb. and it was good indeed! That she is a Friend’s friend gives us no major connection, but we both enjoyed the nice talk we had.
Your work is Awesome too, and i think Goddess Smiles heavily about it!
i doubt that i shall be fortunate enough to fulfill this fantasy again, for too many Women near my age no longer Flow. The thought of painting that beautiful and powerful pattern in Her Goddess Flow upon a beautiful young Woman with my tongue certainly tickles my fancy!

Very nice. The gallery is quite tasteful…. erotic art needs to receive more attention and come out of the closet.
I paint, and if you are interested in having a portrait or figure painting done, I will do it. I normally charge $800, BUT if you agree to sit for 2 paintings it will be free and you keep one.

I think part of what is sexy about erotic art is that it is taboo. Whispers are, after all, more enticing than bellows.
I think it’s a kneejerk reaction to think that if something is good, everyone should know about it. The truth is that some people are not ready to see erotic art, porn or anything sexually provocative.
I think it’s right to keep the mystery to sexuality. The “closet” can be a very beautiful place - a safe place where only those who seek will find what they are looking for.
